Spotlight Meals - Chu Chai January 2nd, 2008 I ate out with a friend. We wanted to eat reasonably light (both in terms of price and portion size) so we each had a soup (spicy lemongrass with faux shrimp) and shared a cup of brown rice, the crispy seaweed apetizers (one of my favourite dishes) and the faux chicken in green curry. I had never had a green curry at Chu Chai before. I enjoyed the accompanying vegetables (zucchini, green bean and green peppers) as well as the mild kick. I still think though that red curries are my favourite. - Brooksie June 27th, 2006 I went to Chu Chai last night with a friend. I did not try anything new. I stuck with my favourites: hot and sour soup with shrimp and coconut milk (though I love all of their soups), crispy seaweed, sticky rice, #99 (beef in 3 flavours) and #81 (chicken in peanut sauce with fried spinach). Of course the chicken, beef and shrimp were all Buddhist inspired faux meats. All very tasty in my opinion. We shared everything but our soups. A very enjoyable evening out with a friend. - Brooksie |
